S Berry Jones - Architects (SBJA) is a small firm with large firm capabilities delivering design & construction processing experience honed over years of hard hands-on work for a wide variety of clients. We boast a wide variety of client types including: families adding onto their personal home, multi-location restaurateurs, developers of senior living facilities, large industrial users, doctors and dentist, Fortune 500 companies, major hospitals, commercial and residential real estate development firms. We have served all with equal success and enthusiasm.
SBJA strength lies in the personal service I give to every project. When you hire S. Berry Jones - Architects you get the original article (Berry) at every step of the process. That is not to say that I don't have staff support - of course I do - but from design to occupancy - I am composer and conductor of the orchestra. I have found the "performance" turns out much better that way.
Project Approach:
Our design process is straightforward: we start by listening carefully to the client to fully understand their vision, focusing on the project’s goals and what they want to achieve both functionally and aesthetically. Back at the studio, I explore different ways to bring that vision to life. I create sketches and design concepts—some ending up in the trash—and narrow them down to two or three strong options to share with the client for feedback. After discussing what they like and dislike about each, I return to the “drawing board” to refine the design based on these discussions. This back-and-forth can continue for days or even weeks until we land on a consensus concept.

S Berry Jones - As a Sole Proprietor Architect that also ran a very successful construction company for 15 years - my firm offers true hands-on experience that gives us a unique set of skills and the ability to think like a builder and design like buildings that are well put together. Even though I am a sole proprietor I employ a team of contract architects and engineers that are carefully chosen for each project based on their expertise for each project. So if I need support (and many times I do not and do all of the drafting myself depending on the project) my team is tailored for each project.
